Baby Stroller Show

Specifics: Serial port connection to computer; 8mb flash; I use rechargable batteries); Not water proof, although it has been through some inclement weather and has been banged around and survived.

Years of Use: 4 (Have not been inclined to upgrade.)

USES: I have used the eMap in all sorts of situations and parts of the country (NorthEast, Southeast, West Coast).

Boating: I purchased the cigarette lighter option and the mount kit (not that great, but works) for my small boat. I snap this unit in and use it to go to fishing spots (Waypoints) that I have loaded in from the software (need to purchase this as well) on my computer.

If I find new spots, they are easy to save and are automatically downloaded to the computer

Mountains: I use this for hiking, camping and hunting. Again portable and able to get to saved waypoints.

Driving: Works fine in the car. However, the screen is a bit small. Has gotten me home through backroads when others have been clogged with traffic.

We bought this stroller when we were expecting our second child. I hated the Graco duo glider and there wasn’t many other options for double strollers. This one was easy to push and I could see both children easily. (My 83yr old grandfather even pushes it with ease.) It is not made for an infant so I bought a head support thing inside and used it only for smooth surfaces. I could not afford more than one double stroller so I had to choose one that would last many years.

Our newest addition and our oldest are 2 1/2 years apart. I knew that my older child liked to walk and I wanted to encourage it as much as possible. All this being said I knew that the Sit N Stand would be the stroller for me.

One of the favorite baby shower gifts my husband and I received in May 2007 was the Graco Passage Travel System. This product is really a combination car seat and stroller, which can be used together or separately. It only took minutes to assemble the whole product, and we have been having been enjoying several features of the system including:

Aesthetics: Our system came in the Bancroft pattern, which consists of sage green and beige colors. This is a nice neutral which matched other boy items for our son, but could be used with girl items in the future if needed.

I hate to post negative reviews, but this stroller is so expensive and such a waste of money that I want to warn first time parents… This was the biggest waste of money and the worst investment I have made. Why? Well, I bought this stroller because of its small size and light weight. I believe it is 12 pounds, which is the lightest full stroller I have found that still has most of the ammenities of other strollers (foot rest, basket, etc.). That said, save your copious amounts of cash and buy 20 umbroller strollers instead, it will well be worth it. Yes, this stroller is compact and easy to lift, but those are its only redeeming features. Everything else on it is pretty awful.

I’ve had this for over a year and it has been very convenient. As a travel stroller it has been great for inside the airport, into the cab and into the hotels, friends and family homes. Good for most city sidewalks but not gravel or cobblestone. You do have to be aware of the fact that you should not push the stroller off curbs, back down when possible. Small wheels in front so they do get caught in cracks and big grooves. Probably not a good idea to go jogging with it. I could see if someone were rushing they could jam the wheels on some uneven sidewalk or root and causing damage to the front wheels. Stroll with caution.

Since this doubles as a car safety seat it saves a bundle when renting cars. If you’re able enough you can change it from a stroller to a seat in one movement saving a lot of time in cars, on trains and on buses. I didn’t try it as a plane seat but saw someone else struggling with another brand and realized how this simple design was working much better for me. I’ve used it on four vacations and several weekend trips and found it very useful. I could never use my Bugaboo for travel like this.

I purchased the Maclaren Twin Techno (In Storm Grey) mostly for its well-trusted brand name. I spent hours on the internet shopping for a reliable, yet functional double stroller for my two daughters 2 1/2 and 8 months. After almost a year of use, here is what I have found so far:

Pros:

I found the foot board on this stroller to be really great. My toddler loves to stand on it, and compared to the Pliko P3, I found it to be much easier for him to stand on and far more stable. The canopy has to be up to give him a view and make it easier for him to grip the handle bar, but he does enjoy it. Also, I think it handles even better with a toddler on the back.

Every year my husband starts out the warm season running,and each year I humor him with something to help his efforts, which usually start to taper off soon after the Chase Corporate Challenge Run is over. When he started making noises about getting a jogging stroller, I set out to find a nice, inexpensive entry-level jogger that I wouldn’t get upset over after his running jag ended. What we ended up with was the Baby Jogger Q-Series Single 12-Inch Stroller.

You can’t overemphasize how imporant weight is. A heavy stroller is just a beating! This stroller is very light - very easy to use and tote around. While you’re shopping, be sure pick up the strollers at least waist high and mimic that you are setting it down in your car. With our first child we got a heavier stroller that had more storage compartments and cup holders and such, then we didn’t use it all the time. We both love this one. You’ll have a diaper bag with you all the time, so storage compartments up top aren’t that big of a deal. The storage area underneath holds a fair amount, plus it folds down for easy access.
