The $#@&* rear wheels fell off!

We received this stroller as a baby shower gift for our third child, as we also had a 1 year old at that time. We liked the fact that the back could accommodate a newborn by lying down, and an older child could sit in the front. After a few months of use, the rear wheels began to sag (they bottom of the wheels pointed out; they looked like they were going to fall off.) As a quick fix I wrapped tape around the axle shaft at the point where the wheels rotated on the shaft. This improved it, but they got worse again soon. I ordered a replacement set as I didn’t want my wife stuck somewhere with two kids and a broken stroller. You can’t order just the wheels; you have to buy the whole assembly (2 wheels + axle shaft). After a few more months the wheels appeared to sag a bit, but not as bad as before. Last Saturday I took the kids for a walk, and the wheels fell off about 1/2 mile from our house. First the left one; I looked at it and it had simply worn the plastic around the inside of the wheel so that it would no longer sit on the shaft. Then the other one fell off. I called Evenflo today to get a replacement set for free. They were happy to send me a replacement set at no charge, even though “they hardly ever do that” (yeah right). I also got a lecture from the customer service rep that many customers would push down on the rear to lift the front of the stroller up curbs (which we rarely do - all our sidewalks have ramps) and this puts too much stress on the wheels - her solution was to back the stroller to the curb and lift up the back first. Yeah, because this is what everyone does, right? I told her any stroller that costs as much as this one did should be designed to handle that stress, because that is how strollers are used. Another point proving my case that this thing is junk - the wheel assembly is on backorder! That tells me that I’m not the only one replacing this part.
