We have had several strollers for our now 1-year old son. We started with one of the less expensive off-road strollers out there and were just not satisfied. It didn’t last very long. The brake was a definite issue. So, after a lot of research, we found BOB at REI. The best part about buying at REI is you can join for a lifetime fee of $15, get a dividend at the end of the year and if you EVER have a problem with your stroller, you can take it back. They stand behind the things they sell like no company I’ve ever worked with. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but not as much as the Mountain Buggies or Bugaboos (not by a long shot). It is so easy to use - putting it up or taking it down is a breeze. Even with a squirmy baby in arms. My son loves to sit in it and drive around - it’s become his favorite activity. It’s sturdy enough to go over grass, gravel and dirt and still have a smooth ride. We don’t live in an area that doesn’t have a lot of sidewalks, but does have a lot of walking and BOB has been amazing. It’s even compact enough to fit through the somewhat small spaces of our local farmer’s market. I particularly love the GIANT hood, it blocks the sun and the rain. The wheels are super easy to remove and the stroller can fit into very tight spaces with them off. Another great thing about BOB is that it has a maximum capacity of 70 lbs. My son has always been on the larger side and we needed a stroller that would last us a long time. Many of the others had a maximum of 40 lbs. The only thing I would change is how it stays closed up. You can wrap the leash around it to keep it closed, but I still haven’t quite gotten the hang of how to do that right.
